CtHelper issue since applying security update

It seems that since applying the Security Update for Windows XP (KB912919)
it made a few changes to my sound card setup which I was able to correct, but
it also has resulted in a reoccurring problem I am unable to resolve. Each
time I log off I get a message saying CtHelper is no longer responding. The
system can eventually close this program itself, but I am concerned that
something else is broken that I have yet detected.

CtHelper.exe is a Creative Labs program.

First try updating the drivers. Get them from Creative. If that doesn't
solve it, use msconfig and disable CTHelper from starting with Windows.
