Hello,

Go to start>run>type services.msc

scroll down the list of services that appears 'til you
get to "cryptographic services".Right click on its its
listing,click "properties".

Under the "general" tab, ensure that the service is
running. Also ensure that it's "enabled" under the log on
tab accessible from the same pane.Best look
under "dependencies",too, and ensure that any services
cryptographic services is dependant upon are running, too.
(I don't actually think there are any,if I remember
correctly)

Bit baffling as to why it would not be running if you
have not shut it down yourself, though.Post back if you
find it is running and the MVPs will talk you through any
other steps.

Start | Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services....

Make sure Cryptographic Service is started.
