Cryptographic Service Driving me nutso

"Setup Could Not Verify the Integrity of the File" Error
Message Occurs When You Try to Install Windows XP Service
Pack 1

Have tried
Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 326815

But still will not update service pack or blaster patch.
Help

Rename the folder windows\system32\catroot2 and reboot. You can then
delete the renamed folder - a new one will have been made which the
service can handle

Then get - only - Q817287 and install it, which should now be OK. It
is itself the cure; you should then be able to carry on with other
updates, and the problem will not recur
