Ok I cleaned up my drive to get more space .Its nice to know I can install on any partition though . If its not going to use up a lot of disc space i think I'll leave it on C for now .

Any ideas about the mising pics in FF ?????????????

First lot of stuffs at 56% , time taken 4hr 53min ---- 3hr 21min to go . :)

It wont use anything like what it says it will. I have a queue of about 10 WU's and i use around 75-80MB At a guess i'd says yours will use around 50mb if you set the profile to 2 days..... (If you used BOINC)

Not sure about the pics, sounds like a new thread job to me as its not related to crunching.

Sounds like you got a FAAH job on the go with a run time like that, nice. :)

Well me sig lines a bit of a porky as I haven't swapped into the Antec case yet  so I'm still running in me modified case which is far from perfect .

Room temp 20 C , Mobo 44 C , CPU 44 C , HDD 29 C .

Room temp 23 C , Mobo 46 C , CPU 50 C , HDD 33 C .

Now the latter figs are with the psu running on slow . If I crank it up it gets a bit loud but the mobo and cpu temps come down to 43 and 46 C . I'm hoping to swap cases this weekend and hopefuly I should get lower temps all round . Be good if I can run at low temps with low revs on the psu . Only time will tell .

We are all part of the team and we are grateful for everything folks crunch - who knows, that first result of yours could be the one that leads to a cure

Hi I'm using 250mb and have a que of 4 , not sure what you mean by setting the profile to 2 days . Whatever, as its running now it ain't affecting anything I'm doing . Just curious how the program works and how it can be set up . :) I've also got nice coloured lines on me statistics charts that are no longer horizontal :D

If you sign in at WCG and go to My Grid>Device Manager>Device Profiles>Boinc Device Profiles>Default>Advanced Options you will see a setting: 'Connect to network about every x days' - if you change it to '2.0 days' then it will download enough work to last 2 days in case of server outages etc, this ensures you will always have enough work to crunch.

I dont want to worry you but......
I would keep an eye on that one if i were you....I have seen that before, it may be a duff WU, that's a lot of disk space for 4 WU's. Keep an eye on the run time and progress if it dont look like its getting anywhere then abort it. You still using the UD agent?

Nope he's using Boinc - see his thumbnail in post #26, it seems to be progressing OK at the moment...

I thing the higher usage is because he's selected to receive all projects, so it has downloaded all the relevant set-up files for them.

So I swaped into me Antec case that I bought from floppybootstomp . New temps are ,

Room temp 23 C , Mobo 46C , CPU 44 C , HDD 32 C .

Thats with the psu running on slow . With the psu cranked up temps are ,

Room temp 23 C , Mobo 43C , CPU 39 C , HDD 29 C .

So not only have me temps come down with the swap I now have a pretty darn quiet pc too . Not totaly silent but pretty and quiet :D:D

March madness or crunching crazy I ain't got a clue what it is but I've left me pc running for 49 hours and here are a few more temps .

Set the psu to low and case fan to high and this brought down the temps .

Room temp 22 C , Mobo 43 C , CPU 37 C , HDD 27 C .

Then I found the black tube that takes air from the cpu to the side of the case , fitted it and temps dropped again .

Room temp 22 C , Mobo 41 C , CPU 34 C , HDD 26 C .

So I think thats quite good .

However the weather has changed and room temp is now about 19 to 20 C and me temps are , and you have to bear in mind the pc has been running for a long time ,

Room temp 19/20 C , Mobo 37 C , CPU 31 C , HDD 24 C .

So I'm of to buy a thicker jumper and I'm keeping me windows open from now on .

:p
