How do I make a reference to a large paragraph an other place in the
document. I want the reference to be automaticly updated.

What type of reference do you want? If the paragraph is numbered, you
can use Insert>Reference>Cross-Reference (Insert>Cross-Reference in
Word 97/2000). At "Reference type", select "Numbered item", "Heading",
a specific caption label, "Footnote", or "Endnote". Then choose the
desired option for "Insert reference to" (for example, for a numbered
item, you can choose "Paragraph number" or "Paragraph text").

On the other hand, if the paragraph does not fall into any of the
categories mentioned above, you have to insert a bookmark around it,
and then, in the Cross-Reference dialog box, pick "Bookmark" for
"Reference type", and "Bookmark text" for "Insert reference to".

Cross-references make use of REF fields. These will update
"semi-automatically". Switch to Print Preview to force an update of
fields. Or you can update them manually: Press Ctrl+A to select the
entire document and then press F9.
