I take it that you want the original entry to be blue?

Press Alt +F9, select the SEQ field in the document and format it as you
wish. Add a \*Charformat switch to the field eg

Figure { SEQ Figure \* ARABIC \*Charformat }

In the cross reference field eg
{ REF _Ref234059671 \h }
the coloured number will be retained. If you want it there to be the same
colour as the surrounding text add a charformat switch to that field.
Press ALT+F9 to display the fields then update all the fields (CTR+A > F9 or
use a macro such as that at http://www.gmayor.com/installing_macro.htm ).

Thanks for your help, is it possible just to blue the number in {REF
_Ref123423423432 \h} and not Figure {SEQ Figure \* ARABIC \ *Charformat}

thanks

Thanks to an anomaly in the way Word handles field content, you could add a
number formatting switch eg

Figure { REF _Ref234059694 \h \# "0" }
and format the field part blue
or
you could insert the field in a quote field eg
Figure { QUOTE { REF _Ref234227804 \h \* Charformat} \# "0" }
which I tend to prefer as it will allow the charformat switch, which will
tend to ensure that updates do not screw up the formatting.

Note both will require Figure adding in plain text before the fields.
