With recent PCs, the best answer is usually to connect a crossover LAN
cable between the NICs of those two PCs, enable Windows networking,
then map a network drive and use Explorer's drag'n'drop. Recent PCs
nearly always include a NIC, usually 10/100 Mb/s, and networking
software is built in to all flavors of Windows since Win3.1.
Note that this answer does not apply to computers that any OS other
than Windows, such as KRONOS, CHAOS, RSX, or any of the *ix clan.
