I've just spent 1 hour and 20 minutes downloading XP's
critical updates and when it tried to install, it says
something to the nature of:
"This product does not have Windows XP logo and is not
digitally signed"

WHAT THE #$%%%^ !!!!!! I'm downloading straight from
Microsoft! In fact, I've been having this problem since
May of this year, I get ALL kind of error messages.
I have McAfee Virus Scan, updated weekly, I run it every
week. I've found viruses, worms and trojan horses but
they've been removed. I'm close to tears here. What
could possibly be going on?

Hi Virginia,
Try disabling McAffee COMPLETELY during
Windows Update Operations.

Error message: "The software you are installing has not
passes windows Logo testing to verify it's compatibility
with Windows XP."

This problem may occur for any of the following reasons:

1. Cryptographic Service is set to disabled.
2. Log file or database corruption exist in the
c:\windows\system32\catroot2 folder.

Make sure the Cryptographic Service is started and if it
is stop it and then rename the catroot2 folder and
restart the Cryptographic Service.

Then try applying the patches.
