I just got a new PC last week--A Compaq Presario 2.6 gig
with XP Home Edition already installed. Problem is, when i
downloaded and installed all the Critical updates from
Microsoft, im now having performance problems--IE: System
running much slower now--Window application not acting
properly etc etc

I really need to know if I have to have these updates, or
can I go without them??

This is the 2nd time this has happened. Also, can I
uninstall the updates without problems?

Please, I need someone's help with this. If anyone knows,
please e-mail me at: (e-mail address removed)

It would be greatly appreciated---Rick

Hi Rick,

From all I have read, you should install all critical updates. I have all of
them on my machine without any problems that could be blamed on them. I have
noticed that sometimes when I install an update, the machine seems to slow
down for a day or so.

You may want to check for any spyware that has been downloaded to your
machine. You can get a good spyware remover from Lavasoft. I don't have a
link for you but, you can find it on Google. The program is called AdAware.
