creation of "KB" notepad & application files

I installed & removed a Windows-compatible order entry/invoice program.
However, after removal of the program, I wasn't able to print any messages
from OE (although I found the fix & corrected this). But in my Windows file
folder, there are now a large number of inexplicable files that begin with
"KB" that are mostly all notepad & application files, the latter of which
launches a "KB" Wizard. None of these files were there before. Can they be
deleted?

Hi,

Are they KBxxxxxx.log files? If so, those are from installing Windows
Updates, and have nothing to do with that program. They can be safely
deleted, they are just a record of the update installation.

no - they are either notepad files (i.e. "KB835221") or files that end in
"enu" and when I click on properties indicate that they are application files
(i.e. "windowsxp-kb885836-x86-enu")? plesae advise.

Hi Donna,

I suspect you aren't set to see the file extensions. Click tools/folder
options, and on the view tab uncheck the option to hide file extensions for
known file types. Then take another look at them.

I did this but it didn't change anything? all the files are still there as
they were before. please advise.

Hi Donna,

I'm fairly sure that you are just seeing the Windows Update remnants, and
should be safe to remove them.
