Creating seperate navigation buttons for partent page and child pages

Adam

HI,

I'm encountering a problem creating seperate navigation buttons for
parent page and child pages. Every time I change the child pages
navigation criteria it changes also the parent page navigation
criteria.
How can you solve it?

I use the FrontPage 2000.

Many thanks.

Assumption: you are using FP Navigation bars in shared borders.

One problem with shared borders is that they are shared. What goes in on
one page is replicated on _all_ the others.

What are the criteria you are using for parent and child?

Assuming (dangerous) that by "parent" you mean Home page, and you are
setting Child pages for the Home page navigation, and Same level for the
child pages, you could use Child pages Under Home for both, (and tick the
Home page box).

Or you could simply not use shared borders on the Home page, and design that
page layout to resemble the child pages, using the home specific nav bar.

There are a lot of assumptions in these solutions, more information would us
to help you.
