inbox it comes up with my hubbys email address in the "from" bar in the new
massage window. I want outgoing emails to have my email address in the from

Switch to Windows Live Mail.

Or
Look at this program.
http://www.oehelp.com/WMIDs/
This program gives Identities in Windows Mail.

Much as I prefer WLM, switching to it won't cure the OP's issue.
WM/WLM/OE all do a good job when replying, since they know to
use the identity of the account which received that email.
But when originating a new email, the program has no way of
knowing beforehand which account identity you want, so it picks
the default account.

Carol, you can simply click on the 'From' bar and select the other account.

When you are viewing any folder for an account and click on New, the mail
composition window has that account on the From line.
You can still click on the From line and change to another account.
Setting an account to default has no effect on opening the message
composition window.

Isn't that what Carol wants?

My apologies, but you are absolutely right. I didn't know
WLM worked that way because I never use the account folders.
We're finally seeing some things that WLM does better than
how OE did it.
