creating email

When I type the message for an email, it appears that the settings for the
size of a line are indefinite. The characters go on forever on one
line...the typing never goes to a second or third line. (for example, when I
am typing this, it has taken 3 lines).
 
Under 'Tools|Options|Send', what Mail Sending Format are you using, HTML or
Plain Text?

You are contradicting yourself. Either it took three lines, or else
everything is on one line. It can't be both.
 
This only happens when I am creating an email. When I type here, in a
document on Microsoft Word, or even when I reply to an email...the text
automatically goes to the next line when I reach the end of a line. However,
when I create an email, the text just goes forever on one line. (Like if the
email message area went on infinitely to the right.)
