creating a templates area.

Is it possible to create a workgroup template folder and view those
templates in excel? I noticed that word had this option but excel didn't.

Just put your excel templates in that same Workgroup Template location. Excel
will find it. (You can change that location in MSWord, but excel will find that
setting.)
 
Thanks for the quick reply but would it be possible to specify or change the
location? The reason being is that the templates are in a network folder
and that would mean I'd have to copy those templates into every install of
excel.

Each user can go into MSWord and
tools|options|file locations
and point the workgroup template location to your network folder.

You can use the UNC path or the mapped drive if you want.

\\server\sharename\path\path
or
x:\path\path
 
Ah, I got it.

I miss read what you had orginally stated. I thought you wanted me to copy
all of the templates and add it into each users excel template folder.
