I have a pre-printed document that I want to be able to fill in and use
without printing the whole document out again (lines logo etc) I have tried
lots of different ways and have been unable to find a perfect solution. Can
anyone help please.

If this is a one off - don't bother. The amount of work necessary to
construct a form in Word that will print accurately on a pre-printed form
simply cannot be justified. Use a pen!

However, having said that, you could insert a scan of the form as a full
size background image and build a borderless table over it to locate the
areas to be filled. Getting the registration correct so that it prints
exactly on the form is laborious. When you are satisfied with the results,
remove the image and print on the form. Don't blame me if it doesn't line up
correctly and you have to start all over again.
