Create vertical label on worksheet

I have a grid I have set up on worksheet in 2007.

I want to set up a label along vertical axis of the grid and have it show
verticaly.

Is there a way to set up cell or label and then rotate it 90 degrees?

That works. but is there a way to make the letters closer together?

None that I know of.

I don't think it can be done.

How about a smaller font?
