Create Distribution List from an existing email

I have received an email sent to several people including myself. I want to
make a distribution list with these contacts without adding each one as a
separate contact.

I've tried the following: I select all the contacts in the email and copy
them. Then open a new blank distribution list and in the select members box I
paste them into the Members field under Add to distribution List.

BUT - when I click OK I get a message because Outlook won't recognise the
email addresses that are showing as display name only rather than the full
email address

ie if the entry is shown in my email as Joe Bloggs it's not recognised but
if the entry is shown as (e-mail address removed) then it accepts it.

Is there a way of creating a Distribution List when only the Display names
are shown in the email without adding each entry as a separate contact and
then creating a distribution list.

Many thanks
