I have a client with a workgroup setting. They added another employee. His
laptop is XPhome. He works at ABCD and WXYZ alternately.

My question is how to I create a new internet connection for ABCD where the
DNS is 192.168.1.30 (the local server). and still leave his WXYZ connection
(dynamically assigned DNS)in tact?

I have no problem changing his current wxyz connection so it works with the
192.168.1.30 DNS server address, but when he goes back to wxyz his computer
won't be able to find a DNS server.

I know this is jacked, I fully intend to move his laptop to Xp pro and do
things the right way, but until then...?

Thanks

The only way to create a new network connection is to install a new
network card.

These programs let you store multiple configurations for a single
network connection and switch between them easily:

NetSwitcher
http://www.netswitcher.com

MultiNetwork Manager
http://www.globesoft.com/mnm_home.html

Mobile Net Switch

Why would XP Pro work better than XP Home? I'm not aware of any
difference between them that would apply to the situation that you
describe.
