create a extra partition.

Hi.

I have a compaq Evo N620 C laptop, with the OEM version of XP Professional.
With PowerQuest Partition i would like to make a extra, but it don't work.

I asked Compaq, and they say the software don't allow it, because it's not
tested.

Can anybody help me to adjust the registry or something, to allow me making
an extra partition?

You might want to ask PQ, allthough I have to say major manu.of laptops do
all sorts of dubious things with their software.

Are you using Partition Magic version 8? I cannot comment specifically on a
Compaq OEM version of Windows XP. You need to resize the existing partition
i.e. reduce the size by the amount of space required for the new partition.
Then create your new partition using the space given up. Look in the User
Guide for the details.
