crashing?

my computer keeps shutting off for no reason that i know of.
i run xp home.
is it crashing?:(
 
Try running Memtest86+,
See: http://www.memtest.org/

This runs from a boot disk or CD
and should eliminate or confirm if your ram is bad.
Let it run for as long as you can, 2,4,6,8 or more hours,
if no errors by then your ram is OK.

If the PC shuts off before completing a long test run,
test or replace the power supply unit. PSUs fail
more often than RAM chips (during the lifetime of
about 10 per cent of PCs.)
