crashing games

after reinstalling xp and starting over my 2 games chaser and battlefield 42 keeps minimizing and telling me with that yellow ! that my virtual memory is too high and then minimum too low ive configured my but off and nothing is working i dont think its a memory problem but somthing else but i dont know what it is plz can somone save me?much appreciation thnx

You need virtual memory on.

Control Panel / System / Advanced / Performance Settings / Advanced /
Virtual Memory Settings and select 'System managed size'.

Also make sure you've got a good few gibabytes of space free on your HDD.
