crashes

[arsenal03football]

I have a simular problem when playing COD but sound
continues to play and i can here mouse clicking when i
move it, simular to when screensaver kicks in but when i
move mouse to get monitor back nothing happens.and cannot
use keyboard to end game or shut off computer,i have to
restart by pressing tower!
All sound and graphics drivers are up to date.plus its a
top of range system with xp os and plenty of mem etc can
you ps help TA.
