Crashes after Update

I have a PC with XP Home edition on it and after
installing XP the system worked fine. Now the system has
updated itself with SP1 and other updates and after
running for about 5 minutes justs cuts off. I can only
assume that this is realted to the updates as everyting
else checks out OK. I have read where some people had
problems with SP1. If so, what is with work around? If I
have to uninstall the update, how do I do that.
