Reload question after computer crash

WIN XP Prof operating system was reloaded after a computer crash which takes
me back to SP1. I now have 53 updates listed that should be downloaded, but
isn't there an easier way - like downloading SP2, then do critical updates
after that? I do not have a disk for SP2, so had probably done that ages ago
via the internet. Any help is appreciated - first time crash victim. Thanks.

Even after you follow LeBrun's advice about slipstreaming, there will be A
LOT of updates to do (unless you include them also on the slipstreamed disk,
DOABLE)

Just installed today XPpro from slipstreamed SP2 disk, and at WinUpdate,
there was 47 critical updates to do, ~50MB......
