crash in installation end

quite normal at the beginning. when it says "completing installation..."
after one restart, the computer have no response. the mouse needle doesn't
move , the caps lock light doesn't change when the button pressed.the disk
light is always off. after i restart the computer by
pressing the restarting button, the installation says "unsuccessful" and
delects every thing installed
 
How are you doing this? From a burned DVD or otherwise? From a dual boot
or not? How much space on the target for installation and if a dual boot on
the original XP drive?
