Hi, I hope I can help here. I am running winxp on C: which is normal, and I
run a d: drive which is my data disk.My d: drive is exchangeable. Thus I
have three data disks; one for work/business and one for hobby and one for
family. Whenever I change the data disk, winxp crash and have to be
re-formatted and re-installed. Is there a way I can use my three data disks
(one at any one time) without\without crashing winxp. Previously I was using
win98se and such crashes never occurred: luckily the win989se disk is still
with me.

I do exactly what your trying every single day and I never have a program.
What kind of drive is the d drive - IDE, USB, SCSI? When you swap the drives
how are you doing it? Do you have system restore monitoring the drives?

You do not say what type of disk this is. Is it a floppy, hard disk, ......?
