CPU Useage in Outlook 2000

I have begun to notice that when Outlook 2000 is open my CPU useage is
between 95% and 100%. When I first launch the program the CPU useage is
relatively small while the program launches and it retrieves my mail but once
those tasks are completed the useage jumps to 100% and remains there for most
of the time program is running. I am using XP pro as an OS.
This condition is true when no other programs are running except Outlook 2000.
Does anyone have any possible explanations and or solutions for this
problem. I have disabled automatic archiving thinking that would be a
condition. Also my PST file is about 192 MB in size.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
