CPU for 64 bit

I went to upgrade from 32 bit Ultimate to 64 bit., after the Windows files
loaded I received a screen that said my CPU would not support 64 bit. I have
a ASUS P4C800-E-Deluxe mother board with a Socket 478. My current CPU is an
Intel Pentium 4 3.00 GHZ. Can anyone tell me what CPU I need to get to
support 64 bit or if its just a BIOS adjustment that is needed? thanks Ron

You'll need to replace both the motherboard and the CPU with 64-bit
hardware.

But why do you want to use 64-bit Vista? Even if you could use a Prescott
with EM64T with that motherboard, what's the point, as it can only use up to
4GB of RAM anyway?
