CPU fan

The CPU fan on Mom's Athlon XP 1800+ is beginning to make a horrible buzzing
noise. If we put the heatsink & CPU fan from my Athlon XP 2400+ system and
put it on that CPU (the 1800+), it would work fine, wouldn't it? (It's the
stock CPU fan and heatsink.) I'm getting a new heatsink/fan anyway.

Yes, it'll work. Or you could just oil the fan bearings. But be a stock
cooler, it's not very good anyway. Suggest a TR2-M1 or -M3, about $8.

I already tried oiling it believe it or not, but it's actually worse now
than it was. Oh well, I have to tear open my computer anyway because the
hard drive just went down south. Thanks.
