Hi All-- I have a PC with an AMD Athlon XP CPU 2400+ 2.00GHz, 1GB Ram.
Lately when I boot up I get this message: "CPU fan is not running Shut down
now? Y/N" Of course I press "Y", it shuts down, I boot it again and it runs
fine. Before I started getting the message, the fans did seem to growl a bit
and then smooth out after a few minutes. This 'puter has a see thru box, and
while I don't know zip about hardware, I can see three separate fans that all
seem to be running fine. One of them sits on a large circuit board--if this
is the cpu fan, it is running.
Any help much appreciated. All the windows service packs and updates are
installed.
