Is there a way in FP98 to create a custom counter?

Kathleen,

Thanks for a quick reply. I followed the instructions on the help page and
still can't seem to get the counter to appear.

Though I don't read code too well, I went to the html and tried to see what
the existing ones looked like, but other than some quote marks - which I
removed to no avail - I couldn't really see what was different.

I inserted one of the existing counter styles in the meantime and will give
it another shot.

Back to the drawing board.
