Count Characters

Brad

Thanks for taking the time to read my question.

Just wondering if there is a way to have Outlook count the characters while
composing a new e-mail, as you type. We are using Outlook to send text
messages to cell phones and have a max of 256 characters (letters, numbers,
spaces, tab, enter etc) and it is time consuming to have to count characters.

Thanks,

Brad

I just found that about 5 seconds before I was notified you posted!!!

Thanks for this.

When you hover over the button it says

"You can also find the word count in the status bar at the bottom of the
window"

I'm guessing that's for Word, and not for a new message in Outlook.

I added a bit to the code I posted earlier (link) to tell the user how many
characters are left. The Word Count command doesn't do that.

Thanks for the post!!

Why not add the Word Count command to the Quick Access Toolbar?

press W to jump to Word count.

How can I get this to update everytime I add or remove text from the
message
body?

Thanks,

Brad
