Hi!

The other day, I discovered a spyware on my computer,
Incredifind.com. Using the tool posted on their site, I
removed the offensive program, only to discover that my
Internet Explorer no longer is able to browse the internet.

A friend mailed me the install files for an other browser
(Opera), which works fine, so I know there's nothing wrong
with my [ADSL] connection.

I've looked everywhere for fixes, several MS Knowledgebase
articles are close, but they don't remedy my problem.

Any suggestions, apart from reinstalling?

Please help as fast as you can....

You need the following:

A good firewall like Zone Alarm or the built in XP firewall

A good Anti-Virus scanner

For your current problem:

Ad-Aware 6.0 - for removing spyware
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

Spybot Search & Destroy - for removing spyware
http://www.safer-networking.org/

CWShredder - gets rid of page hijackers
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4086.html

Google Toolbar - for blocking popups

http://toolbar.google.com/

Before running these, do the following:

Delete temporary internet files and internet history.

If this doesn't work, try a system restore and run anti-spyware and
shredder again.

If the restore doesn't bring back IE, go here and scroll down to
Internet Explorer . . .
Tip: Re-install Internet Explorer

LSP-Fix from <http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm> might help.

Cheers,
