"could not open INSTALL.LOG file"

Karl

I have a couple of programs that I can't uninstall. If I
choose to remove with the "add/remove program" option in
control panel I get a error message telling me that it
can't find the uninstall.log file.

I've also tried to use the softwares own uninstall option
but the result is the same.

The programs still run and function so there has been no
deletion of files.

The programs are LavaSoft Ad-aware, Tweak XP Pro 3 and
System Mechanic 4.

Kind regards,
Karl

You can try reinstalling the programs into the same folders. This will
recreate the missing logs. Then uninstall. Or you could contact tech
support for each program and get their official recommendation for manually
removing their software.

I had the same problem after accomplishing a system restore from the restore function. I get the message: "Can't find install.log file." Did you solve your problem? Anybody else got any ideas?
