install.log - ugh

I uninstalled a bunch of programs. Then I ran system restore to get them
back. They are back and working. But now I have to unistall some of them
and now it won't uninstall and gives me that can't find install.log error.
I've read in here to reinstall the software and then uninstall, but that's
not necessarily feasible. Isn't there a way to just put an install.log file
somewhere and get on with it?

Only the original install log will be functional.

Either re-install the application(s) and then uninstall.
