could not connect to gmail on imap

what does this mean? telling me to sync everything, and i did the
instructions as google told me to. how can this start working for me?

What is "this"? Have you never ever been asked what "this" is? My guess is
that people tell you everyday that you need to be specific. You won't get
much help by asking "what does this mean?".
