Could not configure modem

Dear friends,

My HDD crashed a few days before. However I have installed the Windows XP on
a fresh HDD. After activation, I have installed SP2. But on the welcome
screen I have checked "I'm always connected to the Internet" or words to that
effect.

That time, I was using an unlimited Internet account. But after a few days I
opted for a limited account based on dial up connection over my telephone.

But when I was trying to install the dial up connection, it was
unsuccessfull. The service provider's CD failed to install the required
software/dialup connection. I had tried manually to setup a connection. But
unfortunately Windows did not allow me to do so. The modem was installed
successfully. The querry was also successfull. But when I tried to configure
the new connection it only showed the "connect using a broadband connection
that is always on" field highlighted but "Connect using a dial up Modem" and
"Connect using a broadband connection that require a user name and password"
is totally disabled.

I can understand that I have given an option that "I am always on". But now
I am not always on. I coule not understand that how can I get rid of that!
How can I sort out the trouble? You will be most welcome if your can give me
a solution. I'm really stucked. You may also directly write to me at
