Could Calendar sync attachments with mobile device?

quite nice feature of adding attachments to appointment - could add for
example an image with piece of city map to appointment, but such attachments
are not synced to mobile device (email attachments do).

Is it missing feature of outlook or something can be done to sync calendar /
appointment attachments to winmobile?

if missing feature - did anyone tried with new office 2010 resp winmobile
6.5? may be something improved?

No it doesn't , but I think your counter-question is fairly irrelevant to the
initial question.

Why do you ask question implying that in MS world "Create" and "Display"
function mirror each other?

Examples:

1) PC Outlook does not support creating handwritten notes, but it does
imports and displays handwritten notes from pocket PC device;

2) Pocket Outlook in "Notes" does not have rich text formatting, but it will
display text formatting from PC Outlook.

3) Word Mobile cannot create tables, but it will display tables in document
created on PC.

4) Even Windows Wordpad on PC does not support creating tables, but it
will display and allows to edit tables created by another program;

Since Outlook doesn't take an active role in the sync process, any
deficiencies you perceive are in the sync software and/or the mobile device.
If the mobile device has no facillity for storing calendar attachments, how is
that an Outlook problem?

Tables and handwriting are not the same as attachments of varying types on
an appointment. If the mobile calendar supported attachments they would
sync - the mobile device and the sync software controls what gets synced,
outlook is just the data source. (Blackberry with BES includes just the
attachment's name in the appointment it sends to the phone.)

well, that's vague - how do you expect to discover e.g. that Outlook is
capable of storing handwritten text in notes if there's no single hint about
this feature on PC unless you sync with mobile device?

definition of being "not same" is somehow rhetoric. what I mean is that
"supported" or not you can't find by checking only target system. Handwritten
text in Outlook notes is NOT supported (and you can't find it out)... until
the moment you sync. I'll think about Blackberry later on , but for now
would prefer some concrete info about MS Office-ActiveSync-WinMo stuff - may
be some 3rd party sync software could do trick or new features introduced in
office 2010 resp winmo 6.5...

Perhaps microsoft.public.pocketpc.activesync would be a better place.

Another asymmetry you didn't mention is that a note on the mobile device can
be a sound file. They sync with Outlook on the PC, and you can play them by
opening them in Outlook and clicking the speaker symbol in the note, but you
can't create a sound note in Outlook.
