Corsair DRAM Adds Cooling Fan

Let me add to this; active cooling is ALWAYS a bad thing. It uses up
more power, it introduces more points of failure (as Tony mentioned),
and perhaps most obnoxiously in case, it probably adds to the noise in
the room. Small fans generally run at high RPM, and make an awful
racket.

For memory that does need such a thing, such as some initial FBD based
systems, I'd recommend a huge 120mm fan running very slowly.

And another noise source.

I don't buy motherboards with active cooling on the chipset, either.

Nor cases with 80mm case fans.

Just say "no" to noise pollution.

Do I sense a bit of hostility towards Corsair here?

How can you not admire a company that uses UTT chips and screens them
machines costing just 1% as much as those used by Samsung and Micron?
At least Corsair tests at elevated temperatures, unlike other UTT users.
