Corruption in Recurring Meeting - Bunch of ????????

I have a user running Outlook XP SP3 who has multiple recurring meetings with
corruption in the subject field. If I put my cursor over the subject in the
calendar without opening the meeting I see a bunch of questions marks and
funny characters. Do you have any idea of what could be causing this and what
I can do to correct. thanks very much!
