It is a week that I am having a hell of a time with my outlook. It
takes sometimes 5 minutes to start, everytime the file is corrupted.

I can not delete any email after, a while it comes back says PST file
can not be accessed. Invariably takes 2-3 minutes to swtich from one
folder to the other.

I have run detect and repair to no avail. I have run it with discard
my customized settings .... and now have multiple pst files.

Any ideas

Thanks
Fereydoun

Run scanpst.exe against the file and see if it comes up with anything.

I have run it twice so far and it gives me a non-desciptive error all
the way at the end. Is there a third party utility that can repair it.
BTW the size of it ia 1.4 GiG

Thanks for all the suggestions, I am bigginning to think that I may
have a disk drive problem. I have noticed that everytime there is a
pause with a lot of disk access I get an event 51 Disk warning in the
event system log which supposedly mean;

An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\D during a paging
operation.

I have ordered an extenal backup disk drive to back up everything and
try a new drive. Unless you all have any other suggestion.

Sounds like a disk problem indeed. If you have a SMART enabled harddisk you
can use a SMART utility to scan the disk's health.
