Corrupted profile.

P

Paul L Fisher

My boss is running Windows XP Pro SP1a and has had a recurring problem. He
logs on to his PC that is part of a workgroup with a username of lauerd. The
profile comes up as corrupted. We us KB article 811151 and create a new
profile and copy over the information. He then logs on and everything works.
Within a couple of hours, it comes back up with the profile corrupted
message.

Any idea what would keep corrupting a profile? The funny thing is, when it
is corrupted and he logs in as admin, he can work in that profile for weeks
with no corruption.

Thanks!

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your posting. There are some possible causes such as virus and third-party software. To perform
further troubleshooting steps I'd like to collect the following information from you:

1. The **exact** error message.
2. The System and Application event logs (save as .evt).

Please send them to me via email ([email protected]). Once I receive them from you, I will be able
to work on further troubleshooting steps.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Sincerely,
