Corrupted Files

1--I had a virus corrupt some files in WIN XP SP2. How can I repair the OS
without a complete re-format/re-install of OS?

2--If I have to do a re-install of WIN XP SP2, how does this affect
Activation since it's been already Activated once?

You will have to reactivate.

...since it's been already Activated once?

That's not an issue at all. You can activate as many times as you need to.
The only (slight) issue is that if you activate fewer than 120 days since
the last activtion, you'll be prompted to activate by voice call to an 800
number.
