Corrupt Windows Active Directory

I recently logged onto a server running Windows 2000 Server using windows
2003 remote administration tools (specifically Active directory users and
groups). After doing so, error messages pop up indicating that there is a
problem with Active Directory. Does anyone know how this problem can be
fixed?

Hi John,

What is the error message? Did you check if the name resoluiton is working
fine?
If you are logged on domain controller do you have the same error?

If you have a recent backup, restore the system state. If you are using
a program like Veritas, tell the services to log on using the system
account, reboot into AD restore mode, and restore the system state.
