Corrupt or missing file

When booting up computer, I get the following message:

File is missing or corrupt: \windows\system\vgaoem.fon

I have rebooted, unplugged the monitor with no luck. I tried to use my XP
Disc to repair, but keep getting asked for an administrators' password. This
computer is an older HP with a Pentium III chipset. I would like to get this
computer back up as I have some data I would like to save. Thanks!

'but keep getting asked for an administrators' password'

You probably don't have a password set so just press enter and proceed

Have a look here for the HP solution:
