corrupt document message

I get a corrupt document message when I open my word doc.
The error is related to switching between bullet lists; I
show 2012 list templates in the VB editor. I tried the fix
listed in the knowledge base which was to edit the
registry and enter an item called Value Name:
LTOverflowRecovery and set the value to 1. I still get the
error; anyone know of anything else I can do?

Select the content of the document other than the final paragraph mark,
copy, paste into a new document. If that still doesn't work, copy the
document by chunks, avoiding all bullet lists. Add the bullet lists by hand.
