Corrupt Word Document

When saving a large Word documentI get the following
message:-
This document may be corrupt. To preserve te contents
Select AL and copy from the Edit meu
Open new doc and PASTE

This looses all formatting

I believe it may be to do with the amount of individual
sections with Bullets and Numbering. I know this because
I can enter freeform text, but when I try to format it i
get the message.

Is there a limit that can be changed, or am I stuffed?
