I installed a VPN client on my system and now the drive C:
icon is corrupted. When I double click the drive icon it
launches the VPN install .exe.
However, if I right click the drive icon and select "Open"
it opens correctly.
I have deleted the VPN program using Add/ Remove Programs,
searched the Registry and deleted any reference to the VPN
program but the icon still is corrupted.
Any suggestions?

check the file associations for drive letters, change the
default back to open. you may have to look in the
registry to find it, althouh i'm not sure of the specifics
in xp.

Mark,

Check for the file autorun.inf in the C:\ root dir and delete the file. Reboot.
