Corrupt Boot Sector

I was editing my startup and when I rebooted it says I have a corrupted
boot sector and I need to put in my windows xp home cd to run system
repair. The only problem is I don't have the cd because my laptop came
with an image dvd not a windows xp home cd. I need help desperately
and don't want to format my computer. I need a compatible bootsect.bin
file to put on my thumbdrive so I can boot off of that. After that,
I'm also not really sure what to do.
Please help me.
Thanks

See this link. It describes in good detail how to use the XP CD to access
the recovery console which leads to the section, "How to Repair the Boot
Sector"
http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/repair_xp.htm

Borrow an XP CD from someone. It doesn't have match the version of XP
installed on your system.

Don't toy with us mate - were not that stupid.....

BOOTSECT.BIN - huh, so your dual booting with linux or another version of
windows hey.

To make a file like the one your after search for dual booting or look up DD
in the man pages, PS it can be done through debug aswell if you only have
windows. - I forgot how but you'll find the infor if you need it by searching
Dual Boot win98 XP Linux

PS Bootsect.Bins can be is different on different computers and setups - so
you actually have to make it. For your specific
computer/hardrive/partitionload

Yeah Msoft does things differently to Linux, just thank your lucky starts
you don't have to fix a Mac boot procedure - talk about confusing.

Or am I being too hard on some-one playing games, making out as though Msoft
is the big bad meanie.

I mean if he's for real - than good on Him I wreckon I helped - but there
shouldn't be any file called BOOTSECT.BIN or >LIN or whatever with propritory
MSofware

Unless there is a virus/malware playing games, then I truly apologise mister.
