core2 +WinXP Pro 64-bit

I found 1 review of the core2 benchmarks that ran under WinXP Pro
64-bit but they did not mention any driver problems or blue screen but
in all the news group messages about WinXP Pro 64-bit there are no
drivers for a million things... so how is Dell and Toshiba and all the
rest going to come out with core2 computers in 2 weeks using WinXP Pro
64-bit ?

There's a ton of 64-bit drivers. I have a custom built PC running a Pentium
D and I loaded XP 64bit. The only issue I have is with a logitech webcam.
Seems as if webcams are the hardest thing to write 64bit drivers for (at
least for logitech :-o)

I'm not entirely convinced that a 64bit OS having to run 32bit applications
is that much of an advantage..

The major OEMs such as Toshiba, Dell etc will write or contract others to
write the necessary drivers exactly as they have done for many years with
past operating systems.

17 Aug I went to Dells web and customized a core2 and Dell did not even
offer me WinXP Pro 64-bit.... so will Dell have another recall grin...
when someone buys this without going into customize... just clicks add
to cart they will not know they do not have WinXP Pro 64-bit until they
crank it up at home... can they ship it back to Dell for free? I
would!!!
